Description The DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 is a reference-class DAC and a versatile preamplifier with built-in fully automatic subwoofer integrated and room correction. Every listening room resonates at low frequencies. Because of this, even the best hi-fi system may not sound as good as expected. Much of the audio content get masked by the resonances, introducing unwanted characteristics (such as “slowness” and “boominess”) to the sound. This problem is most pronounced when speakers or subwoofers are placed close to walls or corners of the room. DSPeaker’s Golden Ear awarded Anti-Mode™ 3 technology eliminates the resonances of the speaker and the room by equalising both amplitude and time domain responses, using very accurate digital signal processing filter structures. The result is balanced sound throughout the audible range and seamless integration of the subwoofer and the main speakers. Transient response is also drastically improved in the process, making bass sound faster and more controlled. The Anti-Mode X4 is very easy to use. The calibration process is completely automatic. It generates frequency sweeps to the desired calibration point and measures and corrects the combined response of the main speakers, two optional subwoofers and the room. Everything that you need to calibrate your 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2 system is included in the box, including a measurement microphone and stand. Features Top-of-the-range DSPeaker audio processor Versatile connectivity. Connect up to 10 digital and analogue audio sources Integrates and optimises speakers and multiple subwoofers Built-in headphone amplifier including optional DSP auralisation Patented automatic THD-optimising digital crossover Plug and play. No special expertise is required to calibrate and use it Frequently Asked Questions What room-correction and DSP features does it offer? The Anti-Mode X4 uses advanced digital signal processing to measure your room and automatically apply correction, taking care of peaks, dips and resonances. It also offers parametric EQ, tone controls, filters and the ability to fine-tune settings manually if you prefer a more hands-on approach. How does room calibration work? When you connect the supplied microphone, the X4 generates test tones, measures how your room responds and then calculates correction filters to smooth the response. This process is simple and quick, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of room correction without needing extra software or technical expertise. How does the DSPeaker Anti-Mode X4 compare with miniDSP processors like the SHD? The Anti-Mode X4 delivers automatic, plug-and-play room correction with a focus on sound quality and ease of use, while the miniDSP SHD offers Dirac Live, streaming and advanced EQ tools but requires computer setup. The X4 is ideal if you want fast, reliable results, whereas the SHD suits those who prefer maximum flexibility and control.
